Flips keep size. Transpose and 90° CW swap to 20×15 or back. Row-major order is preserved per transform.
Path picker — Click the preview grid in order (up to 10 cells). Cells do not need to touch — jumps are fine. Once the path has at least 4 cells, matches refresh automatically (same step shape, four rotations, any start). Clear path resets the template.
0 / 10 cells · word length = path length · Auto-search from 410 cells · matches refresh automatically
Cardinal — Click any cell on the grid to set the center; rings of 8 letters (N→NE→E→…→NW) are read at each distance.
Tetris — Solver scans every enabled shape placement on the grid; matches refresh automatically when you toggle shapes or change the cipher.
Chess (Knight) — Solver walks every L-shaped knight jump from each grid cell; after the starting cell, the knight may not land on or next to any already-highlighted cell. Matches refresh automatically when you change the cipher or edit the grid.
Boggle — Solver enumerates dictionary words spellable along 8-neighbor paths (no cell reuse) starting from the picked letter. Type a word above to also highlight where it traces on the grid.
Letters for the layout are what the search uses: stored A–Z reshaped to this size, then read with the selected cipher (Plain or Anagrams on wordsearch) before readouts, everyNth samples, and wordsearch lines are scanned against your dictionary (updates automatically when you change anything). Switch to the Boggle game (under Games) to type a word and see where it can be traced with 8-neighbor steps: red = exact path spelling; green = multiset cluster cells. The same Boggle bar also has a starting-letter dropdown that runs an 8-neighbor solver over the whole dictionary.
By default this page loads wordsplaces.ttibin and DomesticNames_National.ttibin when present (fast caches built from the .txt files via python build_tti_data.py), otherwise the .txt files in the same folder. Under Map / GIS, choose your Default preferred mapping service (Google Maps, onX, Gaia GPS, or AllTrails) and optionally a State filter so Map places lists only features in that state. Each hit can open a Map places dropdown listing domestic feature names that contain that hit word anywhere (e.g. THE → theisen, abtheil, …; each ROCK pin listed per state): click the place name for your default app, or the three favicon buttons for the other apps. Words are normalized to A–Z.
Includes classic 8-way wordsearch lines plus alternate readout paths (spirals, snakes, checker paths, etc.). For each path we also scan every 2nd / 3rd / 5th letter (all start offsets). Checker even/odd with Anagrams uses the compass (N or E path order only). Doubles, Sep Doubles (D8 pattern matches), and Sep H/V (horizontal/vertical overlay viewer) are separate Method entries. The cipher panel offers Plain (letters as shown) or Anagrams (multiset matching on wordsearch, Cardinal, and checker readouts). Changing cipher or method re-runs the search automatically if a dictionary is already loaded.
Grid size reshapes the same 300 letters (row-major) across every factor-pair layout. Bookmark or share a layout with methods.html?rows=15&cols=20 (any pair whose product is 300).
